Trauma Recovery

What is trauma?

Navigating the Healing Journey

Perhaps you are struggling to recover from a single traumatic event, like a car accident. But it seems harder for you to move past the incident than others who were involved. Perhaps you also experienced earlier traumas. Trauma is not necessarily just a single event of physical threat. Trauma can also be experienced from emotional injuries, including attachment disruptions, that a person experiences over time. We all have different life experiences that influence how our brains and nervous systems view and respond to threat. It is a whole sensory experience, unique to you. So to then does trauma recovery need to be unique to you and your healing journey.

Because post-traumatic symptoms can result in changes to a person’s health, identity, relationships, and purpose in life, it can leave people feeling overwhelmed, isolated, or uncertain about the future.

Trauma recovery is a deeply personal and ever-evolving journey. It brings with it profound shifts—physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.
